More Than One Third of European Companies Already Driving Increased Workforce Mobility
New Citrix Online Survey
Responding to growing regulatory, social and environmental pressures, 35% of companies across Germany, France and the UK have seen an increase in workforce mobility over the past five years. This is one of the main findings of a European survey of senior decision-makers in 3,000 public and private-sector organisations designed to explore current attitudes to mobile working, undertaken on behalf of Citrix Online. The momentum towards greater flexible working in enabling a more effective workforce was common to all organisations across all three geographies, although the pace of change varied.

According to Union, University Jobs Are 'On the Line'
The cuts are likely to mean fewer support services for students
Thousands of people working for universities in England could lose their jobs if ministers press ahead with 25% funding cuts, a union warns. Analysis by the University and College Union concluded that 22,584 jobs - academic and otherwise - would be lost. It warned that the quality of students' university experience would be reduced. Chancellor George Osborne announced in last month's Budget that government departments whose budgets are ring-fenced would face spending cuts of 25%.

Be the Lucky Number Seven
Survey shows, executive meet an average of seven candidates before filling an advertising/marketing job
Job seekers in the creative field who have landed an interview may be wondering how many other candidates they’re up against. According to a new survey by The Creative Group, advertising and marketing executives said they meet with seven applicants, on average, before filling an open position in their department. The national study was developed by The Creative Group, a specialized staffing service providing creative, advertising, marketing and web professionals on a project basis, and conducted by an independent research firm. It is based on more than 500 telephone interviews -- approximately 375 with marketing executives randomly selected from companies with 100 or more employees and 125 with advertising executives randomly selected from agencies with 20 or more employees.

Rules of the office break room
The importance of minding your manners
The break room is where employees grab their morning coffee, refrigerate their lunches and catch up on water cooler chatter. It also can be the site of some bothersome workplace etiquette breaches. According to a new OfficeTeam survey, 44 percent of workers said making a mess for others to clean up is the most annoying break room behavior. Stealing a coworker’s food came in second, with 19 percent of the response, followed by leaving expired or spoiled items in the refrigerator at 18 percent.

Disengaged Workers Cost Billions, Engagement Is More Than Just Talk
Is your workforce engaged?
Employee engagement is the new HR buzzword connecting the workforce to the company’s productivity and employee productivity. According to a recent HR Magazine article $350B is the estimated annual cost of disengaged workers for U.S. businesses. Clearly, employers cannot afford to have unengaged employees who have “checked out” only putting in time but not passion or energy into their work. Employee engagement is a key link to customer satisfaction, company reputation and overall stakeholder value.

Inclusive Growth Key to Merge the Two Faces of Asia
New book from the ADB
Rising inequalities in income and access to employment and social services in Asia are casting a shadow over its unprecedented economic boom, and governments and the private sector need to work together to make the benefits of growth more inclusive, says a new book from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Poverty, Inequality and Inclusive Growth in Asia: Measurement, Policy Issues, and Country Studies, edited by Juzhong Zhuang, Assistant Chief Economist in ADB’s Economics and Research Department, examines the growing discrepancies in wealth and persistent gaps in access to social services that have emerged during Asia’s extraordinary economic expansion in recent decades, and lays out policy options to address inequities and support inclusive growth.

Tylko dla kobiet. Jak mężczyźni postrzegają biznes oraz kobiety w biznesie
Autor: Christopher V. Flett
Wydawnictwo: Onepress
ISBN: 978-83-246-1782-1
Samiec alfa — to on jest przywódcą stada.
